Prof. Benedykt Błoński (1957) is a conductor, choirmaster and university teacher. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Warsaw (1982). He currently works as an academic at the Department of Arts of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (PL). In 1999, at the age of 42, he received the title of Professor of Musical Arts. From 2012 to 2024, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Since 1982, he has been conducting choirs that have won the highest national awards and international choir competitions. He has conducted hundreds of concerts in Poland, Europe (Greece, Ireland, Great Britain, Belgium, Lithuania, Belarus, Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Vatican, Italy, Spain, Germany, Russia), as well as in Mexico, the USA and twice in Argentina. His achievements include numerous premieres of works as well as 13 published CDs with Polish and foreign music.
He is a member of artistic councils and juries of choir competitions and festivals of national and international scope. He was the artistic director of the international choir workshops Eurochor 2001, the artistic director of the Polish-German Choir Academy In Terra Pax.
Since 2008 he has been a member of the International Olympic Council of Choirs and at the same time the artistic director of the Feliks Nowowiejski International Choir Festival in Barczew (PL).
Since 2009 he has been the conductor of the choir CANTORES VARMIENSES at the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic in Olsztyn. He has been awarded many awards and distinctions for his artistic, pedagogical and organizational activities.
